Choose the biggest cage you can. Hamsters are active at night and need room to run, dig and hide. Add deep bedding, a wheel of a safe size, a hide and chew items.
Ongoing costs

Before bringing your hamster home
- Set up the cage fully, somewhere quiet and away from direct sun and draughts.
- Syrian hamsters live alone; ask us about dwarf species.
- Let your hamster settle for a few days before handling.
