eSHa Alx is specially developed for ornamental fish against parasitic species of Crustacea (Maxillopoda), including:
- Argulus (carp lice),
- Lernaea (anchor worm),
- Ergasilus (gill lice),
- Salmincola (gill lice), etc.
- The parasitic Crustacea occur on and in the skin of fish and on the gills.
There are a few noticeable symptoms of parasitic Crustacea:
- Trying to jump out of the aquarium/pond.
- Scraping the entire body along stones and the bottom.
- Visible areas where parasites have bitten (which subsequently become white as the skin dies).
- Pale gills.
- Listless behaviour.
- Skittishness.
- Weight loss; separating from the group.
- Not eating.
eSHa Alx can also be used with marine fish in quarantine tanks.
In the case of multiple infections eSHa Alx can also be used with:
- eSHa 2000
- eSHa Exit
- eSHa Gdex
To help fish recover and improve their general health we recommend you use eSHa Optima Fish Health Booster and eSHa Minaroll after treatment. If used in a planted aquarium it is recommended that eSHa ProPhyll is used too.

- Recommended for: tropical, cold water, & marine fish.
- Treatment type: liquid.
- Harmless to filters and all species of fish, filter bacteria, and plants.
- Shrimp and Crayfish must be removed before adding the treatment.
- Care should be taken too with other invertebrates (read instructions carefully before use).

- Remove any ‘active’ filter media such as carbon, adsorbing resins before use.
- Switch off UV lights too.

- After successful completion of the course, use eSHa OPTIMA® and Minaroll (trace elements, minerals and vitamins which stimulate and support the natural immune defences and speed up recovery). If used in a planted aquarium it is recommended that eSHa ProPhyll is used too.
